AS many as 10,000 vacancies for professionals across 140 companies will be offered at the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP), to open at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday.
Shenzhen Western Human Resources Co. will coordinate the vacancies at the Golden-collar World Job Fair, an important sideline event of CIEP, in Hall 1.
All applicants are required to have at least a college education background with working experience.
"The enterprises at the fair covered more than 10 industries including automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical and finance, and most of them are based in Shenzhen," Yang Weiguang, Shenzhen Western"s fair manager, said at an interview.
The company had booked an area of 3,500 sqm for the fair, similar in size to the previous fair. According to Yang, enterprises from Singapore and some major Chinese cities will attend the fair to seek high-level professionals.
CIEP, an annual event in Shenzhen since 2007, is becoming a major international event in the city following the China Hi-Tech Fair and the International Cultural Industry Fair.
This year"s CIEP will attract 1,000 expert organizations, training institutions and head hunting companies from 45 countries and regions — almost double that of last year, despite the global financial crisis.
Dozens of overseas student organizations in Australia, Britain, Singapore and the United States will bring more than 100 of the latest high-tech projects to the conference.
According to statistics released by the city"s human resources and social security bureau Wednesday, more than 36,000 students who had studied overseas had returned to the city by the end of 2008 and had between them started 1,500 firms. Nearly 80 percent of them work in the finance, communications, IT and manufacturing sectors.
Tickets for the fair are 20 yuan (US$2.9).
