Shenzhen reported three new locally transmitted confirmed cases and eight imported confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday.
Two of the three new local infections were found among close contacts of a quarantine hotel staffer in Guangming District who was reported to be a COVID patient Sunday.
Both patients are workers at the same quarantine hotel. They were under closed-loop management during work and their activity tracks only involved their dormitory and workplace. Their genomic sequencing is under way.
The other new local infection was detected during a routine screening of COVID among key groups. The 54-year-old woman works in a store in Minghua Building in Dongmen, Luohu District, and lives in Xiawei Xincun real estate in Qingshuihe Subdistrict, Luohu.
A preliminary investigation showed that her whereabouts in the past 14 days mainly involved the Caopu and Laojie stations of Metro Line 3, the Caopu and Dongmen stations of Buses No. M190 and 369, and her workplace in Minghua Building, which has been listed as a mid-risk area for COVID following her infection.
Separately, the eight new imported confirmed cases were all Chinese nationals from Hong Kong. They were quarantined upon entry and later transferred to the emergency wards of the Third Peoples Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. They are currently in stable condition.
