1. Scientific strength of Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Zone is utilized to defeat the epidemic. On Mar. 10, Party Secretary Wang Weizhong and Mayor Chen Rugui inspected the scientific research work of the epidemic prevention and control at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Southern University of Science and Technology, and held a meeting with the experts. They expressed the highest respect and heartfelt gratitude, on behalf of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, to the scientific researchers and medical staff working in the scientific frontline in the city. 2. Shenzhen’s manufacturing industry improves production capacity and ensures the recovery of supply chain as soon as possible. Since the work and production resumption on Feb.10, a number of Shenzhen’s manufacturing enterprises have made great efforts to improve production capacity and ensure the recovery of supply chain as soon as possible. As a “world factory”, China’s supply chain is intertwined with the world. Since the spread of the epidemic, many manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen have been able to achieve smooth resumption of production and efficient delivery, thanks to the government policy support, and crisis response and risk management capabilities cultivated by long-term global operation. 3. 1,691 construction projects have been resumed in Shenzhen, with 195,000 people working on the sites. As of Mar. 8, 1,691 out of 2,278 construction projects in the city have been resumed. The resumption rate of key projects involving epidemic prevention and control, emergency relief, urban operation, basic livelihood and major events is 97%. There are 195,000 people working in the citys construction projects, including 168,000 people who arrived in (returned to) Shenzhen after the Spring Festival. 4. More preferential policies for enterprises are issued in Qianhai to support the financial industry’s fight against the epidemic. On Mar. 9, Qianhai Authority issued the Guidance of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone on Application for Special Funds to Support the Development of Financial Industry, launching the application procedures for financial development special funds in Qianhai. The move will enable financial innovation in Qianhai to provide strong support for epidemic prevention and work resumption in an orderly manner. Qianhai has been innovating supportive measures with focuses on easing financing difficulties of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and has adopted intelligent application measures to streamline application materials and procedures. 5. Shenzhen Customs leverages science and technology in epidemic prevention and control, with walking robots taking body temperature and unmanned vehicles helping fight the disease. The war on the epidemic is a war of science and technology, in which Shenzhen Customs has employed a multitude of reserved and innovative technologies. 6. 5,000 “Shenzhen Charity love bags for epidemic prevention” are distributed by Shenzhen Charity Federation to help frontline personnel fighting the disease. Shenzhen Charity Federation, an organization that reaches out to the social communities in Shenzhen, has given out 5,000 “love bags”. The bags containing prevention and control goods such as disinfectant and immunity-enhancing food donated by Shenzhen-based enterprises and the Federation itself were mainly distributed to frontline personnel fighting the epidemic, cleaners, vulnerable families and families with handicapped people.
