THE 11th China Hi-Tech Fair will be held from Nov. 16 to 21 in the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center this year, not the regularly scheduled time in mid-October, according to a meeting held in Hohhot in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Tuesday.
So far, 33 provinces, municipalities and regions and 26 universities in China and countries, such as the United States, Russia, Germany and Belgium, had agreed to participate in the nation"s top science fair, Shenzhen Vice Mayor Xu Qin said.
Germany and Hungary had already booked booths.
In addition, more than 100 world-leading companies will exhibit in the IT section of the fair, including IBM and Sun, said Wang Xuewei, director of the city"s trade and industry bureau.
Organizations, such as the Taipei World Trade Center and Korean Information Technology Research Institute, and industrial associations from Germany, Japan and France will also participate.
More than 150 joint venture companies, such as Samsung from South Korea and Sumitomo Group from Japan, have all started negotiations with the organizer of the fair on exhibitions at the electronics section, said Wang.
More buyers and exhibitors are expected to attend this year"s fair despite the financial crisis because more overseas professional buyers and companies had shown their great interest in the fair.
